This year is no different, as iOS 7 adds accessibility options - such as Dynamic Text and Increase Contrast - that are sure to be appreciated by users who rely on such capabilities to interact with their iOS devices. Being legally blind, I appreciate them, so follow along as I share the most noteworthy of iOS 7’s vision-related features.ĭynamic Type - One of iOS 7’s marquee features is Dynamic Type, which enables you to resize text, at least in apps that support it. To change the text size, go to Settings > General > Text Size and adjust the slider to your liking. It may take some time before most non-Apple apps support Dynamic Text, but a few apps have jumped on board early, such as the latest version of the Digg newsreader. ![]() If you need even larger text, iOS 7 has you covered, with Larger Dynamic Type, a reworking of the Large Text feature in iOS 6. ![]() As its name implies, Larger Dynamic Type lets users adjust font sizes beyond what’s allowed in the Dynamic Type setting. To enable it, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Larger Type, flip the switch, and drag the slider until you’re happy with the text size. While I appreciate Larger Dynamic Text, I prefer the iOS 6 interface for setting it. In that version, Large Text presented users with size options ranging from 20 point (where I like it) all the way up to 56 point, with graphics illustrating the change in size.

So you know, it doesn't make any difference to us who is playing or who the quarterback is. "We just work the game, and if it's a foul, we call a foul," Coleman said. I plan on talking to commissioner Goodell about this. "It's really taking the fun out of the game for me - honestly, it really is," Newton said at the time. It escalated when Newton blasted officials after a home win against the Arizona Cardinals for not calling a hit below the knees while he was in the pocket. The first occurred in the opener against the Broncos in Denver, where Newton was hit in the helmet twice without penalties being enforced. This was the latest incident in a season of frustration for Rivera and Newton over uncalled penalties on illegal hits and helmet-to-helmet shots against the reigning NFL MVP. ![]() And so what we ruled was that he slid late but there was no forcible contact with the head - that he just went over the top." "Well, what I saw was that Cam slid late, and the defender went over the top," Coleman said. Referee Walt Coleman defended the call after the game. You should have had a call there," Austin said. "That was a sliding quarterback and you have helmet-to-helmet contact. Gerry Austin, a retired official who works on ESPN broadcasts, agreed with Rivera's take on the play. Because Newton was sliding, he was rendered defenseless. Rivera argued it should have been offsetting penalties, which would have left the Panthers in field goal position. But at the end of the day, we've got to keep our composure.'" "I get to see it, and unfortunately, they're trying to make a decision at full speed. Newton was scrambling on his way out of bounds in the first half of the Panthers' eventual 26-15 victory over the Redskins on Monday night, when he was hit by Washington's Trent Murphy. The word jewellery itself is derived from the word jewel, which was anglicised from the Old French " jouel", and beyond that, to the Latin word " jocale", meaning plaything. In modern European culture the amount worn by adult males is relatively low compared with other cultures and other periods in European culture. Jewellery has been made to adorn nearly every body part, from hairpins to toe rings, and even genital jewellery. In most cultures jewellery can be understood as a status symbol, for its material properties, its patterns, or for meaningful symbols. Gemstones and similar materials such as amber and coral, precious metals, beads, and shells have been widely used, and enamel has often been important. Jewellery may be made from a wide range of materials. The basic forms of jewellery vary between cultures but are often extremely long-lived in European cultures the most common forms of jewellery listed above have persisted since ancient times, while other forms such as adornments for the nose or ankle, important in other cultures, are much less common. Jewellery is one of the oldest types of archaeological artefact – with 100,000-year-old beads made from Nassarius shells thought to be the oldest known jewellery. For many centuries metal such as gold often combined with gemstones, has been the normal material for jewellery, but other materials such as glass, shells and other plant materials may be used. From a western perspective, the term is restricted to durable ornaments, excluding flowers for example. Jewellery may be attached to the body or the clothes. Here is a sample (photo via Under Consideration): According to Southwest, the blue represents “the spirit of reaching new heights,” red represents “the passion for helping their customers,” yellow symbolizes “an exciting new day” for Southwest, and silver adds “energy that will take Southwest into the future.” They have also developed a whole new visual experience updating everything from Rapid Rewards cards to their onboard snack packaging which I can’t wait to see in action. The colors have symbolism and they stayed with that. I also like that they chose to stay true to their original color palette just brightening it up a bit, further emphasizing that they are not changing who they are. Both elements work very well cohesively but also are both very strong elements on their own. Most companies tend to emphasize the symbol but here they favored the type. I also really like the ratio of the typography to the heart symbol in the new logo. I think their new logo is extremely bold, fun and engaging. There is symbolism in the heart for Southwest being that Southwest’s home airport began as Love Field in Dallas, their stock symbol is “LUV” and that their goal is exceptional care and hospitality. ![]() I know you are thinking, “How cliche with the heart?” but I think it works in this case. I know you are probably thinking why, but the idea of flying somewhere warm and sunny made me smile. Ho Hum! The cabin fever is starting to set in for many of us around this office so when I was looking for some ideas for my blog post this morning and came across a follow up for Southwest’s rebrand on the blog “ Brand New,” I felt a glimmer of hope in what seems to be a dreary and cold world lately.
